You're reading these words without moving your eyes. No line to follow, no page to turn: the next word just shows up. Keep your eyes on the red letter. Ten minutes like this every day, and you'll finally finish your books.

How it works

Three quick minutes to get started!
Then ten minutes a day.

  1. 01

    We measure your speed

One minute of reading and two questions. The app starts from there: not too slow, and never faster than you can follow.

  2. 02

    You pick your slot

How many minutes, which days, what time. The reminder shows up at the right moment, not before.

  3. 03

    One chapter, and you're done

The timer stops and your streak grows by a day. Tomorrow, you pick up at the exact word you left.

How many books will you read this year?

Pick your time per day and your speed. Blitzchapter does the rest: a short session, a reminder, and the book moves forward.

Every morning, Lucie climbed the hundred and twelve steps of the lighthouse. She loved the moment when the sea, still gray, hovered between night and day. That Tuesday, something had changed.

What the science says

We won't promise you 1,000 words a minute.

Other apps do. The research says otherwise. Blitzchapter is built on what it actually shows: read at the speed where you understand everything, a little every day.

1970

Researchers have been studying word-by-word reading (RSVP) for more than fifty years.

Forster, 1970, Perception & Psychophysics

~300

words per minute: past that, comprehension drops. The app measures your speed in one minute and starts from there.

Health, brain, language, habits

Reading more books doesn't mean reading twice as fast. It means reading every day.

Your questions

Do I really understand what I read?

Yes, at your speed. The app measures it at the start, you adjust it with one swipe, and if a sentence slips past you, just go back and reread it. Past about 300 words per minute, comprehension drops: the right speed is the one where you understand everything.

Can I read my own books?

Yes, DRM-free EPUB files. Books bought from the big online stores are often protected: those only open in the store's own app.

Do I need an account?

No. Your books, notes and progress stay on your phone.

How does the free trial work?

7 days free on the yearly plan. We send you a reminder before it ends, and you can cancel anytime in your iPhone settings.

What if I don't pay?

Single-word reading, your own books, the streak, the timer and 3 classics stay free, with no time limit.

Just one chapter?

Your first session takes a minute. Your first book, a few days.
